A showcase for a single skein of luxury yarn!
When I first saw this hat I couldn't help myself stopping the lady wearing it and asking more than a few questions. She was gracious, and told me that she hadn't made it but found it in a thrift store. Shrugging she continued on. I couldn't, I couldn't shake that hat. It looked so easy, so lovely. I knew that the only thing to do was to cast on and attempt to make one for myself.
I stayed true to the original, with a stitch pattern that is a knitted version of broomstick lace, keeping the elongated stitches to make taller rows that stretch a skein of hand painted yarn a little further.
I was shocked, when I finished it, to find that a roommate found my version equally stunning, and declared an interest in it, as strong as my interest in the original. Thus it became the Covet Hat.
