So, my brain falls out every year around The Gifting. Unfortunately, this is not the year of the handmade gift. My pride has mourned that loss and graciously, thankfully moved on.
For many years my realm of handmade gifting has been seeping into handmade gift wrapping. Yes, it strikes a note of terror into my heart as well. And there has been many a late night when I wondered if it was worth it. (The stress - never. The result - always.) I have found remnants of my handmade gift wrapping on cork-boards, teddy bears, picture frames and generally sprinkled into the lives of my friends and family in ways I couldn't have dreamed (this may be because they are well aware of my style of crazy, but I like to think it's because I've done good work). When it comes down to it folks hoard the things that we make for them, and if one takes the time (even on the little, seemingly inconsequential, things) they keep it in their lives as a reminder that somebody cares enough for them to make the extra time.
I've put together a few posts to show you what I do.
